Form of Flight
Produced and Recorded by Tim Bluhm of The Mother Hips directly after his life-threatening para-gliding accident during a year of healing, and mixed by Tim remotely from ICU during his final surgery, Form of Flight is a collection of 11 of The Mother Hips' songs reimagined for female voice, piano, and orchestral sounds. Featuring Alison Harris, Pat Sansone (Wilco), Dave Schools (Widespread Panic, Hard Working Americans), Brad Jones (Chuck Prophet, Josh Rouse, Over the Rhine), and Tim Bluhm, Form of Flight was released in February 2019. Artwork by Molly Tuttle.
Creating Form of Flight was a labor of love and an effort to heal through musical collaboration during a difficult year (or two!). If you are inspired by the music and the story, please consider contributing a monthly amount to Alison's Patreon page. You can support Tim through his website as well. Your support is greatly appreciated! We hope this music brings you peace, creative reflection, and healing.
Form of Flight is a journey of healing, a merging of timeless self expression and creativity with the classical sounds of strings and symphonic instruments. Music can carry us through the triumphs and tragedies of life, momentous changes, and rebuilding what has been destroyed. Music is an unfailing source of light, an unending transformation of human experience into sounds that lift our spirits above the darkness. Form of Flight is a tribute to that creative and musical power.
